Return and Refund Policy
1. Introduction
Protibandhi Unnayan Sangstha (PUS) is committed to maintaining transparency and accountability in handling donations and financial contributions received through its website and other authorized channels.
This Return and Refund Policy explains the circumstances under which a refund may be requested, how refund requests are reviewed, and the expected timeframe for processing approved refunds.
As PUS is a non-governmental development organization, this policy primarily applies to donations, online contributions, and other eligible payments made through authorized payment channels.
2. Eligibility for Refunds
Donations and financial contributions made to PUS are generally considered voluntary and intended to support the organization’s programs and activities. However, refund requests may be considered under the following circumstances:
- Duplicate Payment: The same donation or payment was processed more than once due to a technical error or an unintended repeated transaction.
- Incorrect Transaction: An incorrect amount was charged due to a verified payment processing error.
- Unauthorized Transaction: A payment appears to have been made without the account holder’s authorization, subject to verification and applicable payment provider procedures.
- Technical Error: A payment was deducted from the donor’s account, but the transaction was not properly recorded or confirmed due to a technical issue.
- Other Exceptional Circumstances: PUS may review other reasonable refund requests on a case-by-case basis, subject to verification, organizational procedures, and applicable laws.
Approval of a refund request is not automatic and depends on the circumstances of the transaction.
3. Non-Refundable Donations
Donations that have been successfully processed and allocated or committed to an approved project or program may generally be non-refundable.
However, PUS may review exceptional circumstances, including duplicate payments, verified technical errors, or other cases where a refund is appropriate under applicable laws and organizational procedures.
Submitting a refund request does not guarantee approval.
4. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, donors should contact PUS through the official contact page:
Contact Page: https://pusbangladesh.org/contact/
Please provide the following information to help us review your request:
- Full name of the donor.
- Email address and contact number.
- Donation date and transaction reference or ID.
- Amount paid and payment method.
- Reason for requesting a refund.
- Relevant transaction confirmation or payment receipt, where available.
For security reasons, please do not send your full payment card number, card security code, banking password, or other sensitive payment credentials.
PUS may request additional information when reasonably necessary to verify the transaction and assess the request.
5. Refund Review and Approval
All refund requests will be reviewed by the appropriate authorized representative of PUS.
During the review process, we may verify the transaction details, payment status, donor information, and reason for the request. Where necessary, we may also coordinate with the relevant payment service provider.
PUS will communicate the outcome of the review using the contact information provided with the request, where reasonably practicable.
Refunds will be processed only after the request has been reviewed and approved.
6. Refund Processing Timeline
Approved refunds will generally be processed within 7–10 working days from the date the refund request is approved by PUS.
The time required for the refunded amount to appear in the donor’s account may vary depending on the payment service provider, bank, card issuer, or other financial institution involved.
The 7–10 working day period refers to PUS’s standard refund processing timeline and does not guarantee that the amount will be credited to the donor’s account within the same period.
If additional verification or processing is required, the timeline may be extended. Where reasonably practicable, PUS will inform the donor of any significant delay.
Working days exclude weekly holidays and public holidays applicable to the relevant processing arrangements.
7. Method of Refund
Where possible and appropriate, approved refunds will be returned through the original payment method used for the transaction.
Depending on the payment method and the procedures of the relevant payment provider, the refund may be credited to the original bank account, payment card, mobile financial service account, or other eligible payment instrument.
If a refund cannot be processed through the original payment method, PUS may coordinate with the donor and the relevant payment provider to determine an appropriate alternative, subject to verification and applicable requirements.
8. Cancellation of Donations
If a donor wishes to cancel a donation, the donor should contact PUS as soon as possible after completing the transaction.
A cancellation request does not automatically qualify for a refund. The request will be assessed based on the payment status, whether the contribution has already been processed or committed, and the circumstances of the request.
Recurring donations, if offered through the website, may be subject to additional cancellation procedures depending on the payment service provider and the arrangement established by the donor.
9. Payment Disputes and Unauthorized Transactions
If you believe that a payment was unauthorized or processed incorrectly, please notify PUS promptly and provide the available transaction details.
We may review the matter with the relevant payment provider and take appropriate steps in accordance with applicable procedures.
Donors may also contact their bank, card issuer, or payment service provider directly where necessary.
10. Changes to This Policy
PUS reserves the right to update or revise this Return and Refund Policy when necessary to reflect changes in organizational procedures, payment systems, or applicable legal requirements.
Any revised version will be published on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
Donors are encouraged to review this policy before making a contribution.
